Centina was appointed as Managing Contractor following a tender, with the responsibility of coordinating further design development and ensuring cost and constructability outcomes were optimised. Our early involvement allowed us to apply rigorous cost control and value engineering, delivering the best possible result in both budget and program.

The fast-tracked project involved construction of a new 2,200m² two-storey food court adjoining existing tenancies. The façade features expansive glazing and interlocking panels, with the centrepiece being a warped multi-cell polycarbonate veil. This distinctive architectural element required close collaboration with trades, suppliers, and engineers to make viable.

The works also included expanding car parking capacity by 120 spaces and undertaking a major stormwater upgrade, which required cutting and covering an existing creek. Through collaborative design and value engineering, Centina achieved significant savings in the civil works package.

Internally, the fit-out delivered polished concrete floors, new wet areas, partitions, and service provisions for individual tenancies, including Zambrero. The result was a modern, high-quality retail destination completed 23% below Centina’s original competitive tender price—demonstrating the value of early contractor involvement and a collaborative approach.
